The room was neat. Complimentary local coffee! The beach & beach bar right at your front door! Live DJ and young local hot spot on Sunday! The staff was also very helpful in recommending good places to get food and cocktails!
It was perfect for the purpose of our trip.
The Beach House Hotel has direct access to the beach in the Isla Verde area of San Juan ; and is also accessible directly from the main street in this part of San Juan. The hotel is in fact a farly large 1940s or 1950s family house that has been converted to a small hotel ; and further expanded with a modern hotel block. There is parking in the front, the entry to the reception is in the newer part ; and the 18 rooms are mostly in the newer block. The groundfloor of the main building houses a club room, kitchen, restaurant and a lounge which further opens up to the beach ... lounge chairs and tables seemed to get feet during the day and approach closer and closer to the water as the day progressed.
Best rooms are in fact in the main (old) building, 3 of them with sea view. The new block lacks personality, and has in fact no view at all, not even to backyard. Rooms are "basic", but have AC, shower, coffee cooker and TV with umpteen channels. As this is vacation paradise, the roomrates are high ... one would not expect to pay USD 100-150 a night for a hotel with this standard - but in San Juan a 4 star hotel will easily cost USD 250-300. So in comparison, with direct beach access to the turquise waters ... this is a good deal. Bar is good, and restaurant food excellent (and residents get 20 % discount on food). There is also 24 hrs security, and police patrols the beach day and especially night. I enjoyed my time in this hotel !
Excellent location. Great restaurant. Relaxed atmosphere but if you need anything the staff will help you. Be prepared for pretty loud music from the bar on weekends. The sea is beautiful and tranquil here and you have access to shops etc. on the main street. But really the sea was all I needed.
Be prepared for pretty loud music from the bar on weekends. But everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is great.
Perfect location on the beach with the most wonderful beach furniture--perfect for relaxation. Very laid-back. Ease of transportation to Old town of San Juan.
Directly next to the beach, lovely location. Nice, lovely and helpful staff @ reception, bar & restaurant
Basic rooms, old furniture
We loved it, night security was friendly, location was key, affordable, and beautiful. must want to enjoy night life!!! would go back
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was also pretty good at the hotel and location was great.
A bit too pricy. The rooms are very small, no telephone in room, few towels provided.
Noise, the mattress needs to be replaced, Plastic in the windows. No furniture or hairdryer, no stopper for sink and no housekeeping service, no phone.
Very bad experence. Load music till 1 am. Missing light bulbs no soap.
Very loud music up to 3a.m. Very dirty and small rooms. Everything is broken. Awful hotel.
Isla Verde Beach is beautiful and the area is good
Just outside deck only
Rooms are too small...i m not recomend to stay again , I m good to pay $30 more but at better , spacious hotel...comeon its not good.
The hotel was right on the beach. However, the beach furniture was old and torn. Not very inviting.
Other than the bed, there was no where to sit. There was not a dresser and we had to live out of our suitcases. Very cramped!
The lounge was cool, and access to the beach was conveniet.
The room did not provide remote control to the t.v. and no iron or ironing boards. Night shift was not courteous. Sabrina(?) during the day shift was very helpful.
The enviroment in front of the beach tthe ambiance at Night make your stay so comfortable and Peaceful small place but great location! Nice Rooms and nice food at cafelaplage rest.
